Products
Create products, variants, options, media, and publish them to the storefront.
Products live under Catalog → Products. A product must be Active and Public before it appears on the storefront.
Product status and privacy
Two independent settings control visibility:
| Setting | Values | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Status | Draft, Active, Archived | Active products are available for sale; drafts are work in progress; archived products are hidden and kept for history |
| Privacy | Public, Private | Private products are hidden from the storefront even when active |
Archiving is reversible. Permanent deletion removes the product and cannot be undone; the product must be archived before it can be permanently deleted.
Create a product
- Open Products and select New Product.
- Enter the product name.
- Open the product details panel and add a brand and description.
- Add pricing and at least one variant.
- Upload media and set alt text.
- Assign categories and collections.
- Set the status to Active and privacy to Public when you are ready to sell it.
A product without a variant cannot be purchased. The first variant is usually the default variant; additional variants come from options.
Details and descriptions
The Product Details panel contains:
- Name — shown on the product page and in orders.
- Brand — used for filtering and display.
- Description — the long description; supports rich sections.
- Generate with AI — generates a description with Google Gemini. Review the output before publishing.
- Information sections — titled blocks such as materials, care, or delivery information. Drag to reorder them.
Options and variants
Options are choices such as Color, Size, or Material. Each combination of option values becomes a variant.
- Open the product's Options section.
- Select New option.
- Choose a display style:
- Buttons — compact text choices for short values.
- Swatches — color or image circles.
- Dropdown — a compact menu for long lists.
- Add values. You can use a preset for common options such as Color or Size.
- Review the variant impact before saving.
Renaming or removing option values regenerates variants and unlinks option images for the removed values. Review the confirmation dialog before saving.
Variants carry the sellable data:
- Price and compare-at price.
- Cost for margin tracking.
- SKU and barcode.
- Stock and whether inventory is tracked.
- Active status.
Use Manage variants to edit a single variant, or select several and use Bulk edit to change price or stock. Leave a bulk field empty to keep the current value.
Media
- Up to 18 images or videos per product.
- The first item is the cover; drag to reorder.
- Set alt text for accessibility and SEO.
- Link media to option values to show different images for each swatch.
- Removing media from a product does not necessarily delete the underlying stored object; use the media delete action when you want it gone.
Categories and collections
- Categories are the main catalog taxonomy.
- Collections are curated groups, such as seasonal edits or featured sets.
- A product can belong to multiple categories and collections.
- A collection can be manual or smart; the admin currently manages membership from the product and collection screens.
See Categories and collections.
Publish and unpublish
Use the row menu or bulk toolbar to:
- Publish — set the status to Active.
- Unpublish — return the product to Draft.
- Make public / Make private — change storefront visibility.
- Archive / Restore — move between active and archived lists.
- Delete Permanently — remove the product after archiving.
Duplicate a product
Duplicating creates a copy as a private draft. Update the name, media, and variants before publishing it.
Import and export
Use Import / Export on the product list.
- Import CSV supports the Prolifto template, Shopify exports, and WooCommerce exports. The file must be no larger than 5 MB.
- The import preview validates rows and shows which products and variants will be created and which rows will be skipped.
- Large imports run as a background job; a notification appears when the import finishes.
- Export CSV downloads the current product data for backup or editing.
Download the template from the import dialog if you are starting from scratch.
Limits and plan constraints
Product limits depend on the store's plan. The free plan allows 100 products; paid plans allow more. See Settings → Plan & Billing for the current usage and limit.
